In our modern society, finding a place of belonging or connection can be hard to come by. This lack of connection can leave us feeling we are living a life without  breath, spirit or even soul. The word psychotherapy is rooted in the word psyche meaning "breath; spirit; soul" and terapeia meaning "to heal". The process of psychotherapy is the practice of  connection with another person as a  way to heal the breath of life, the spirit and/or the soul. Therapy is a place where connection, understanding and healing, soulful healing which restores the "breath of life" can happen. As we are able to experience healing in the process of therapy there is a restorative connection to ourselves and others allowing us to live a more purposeful and authentic life.

My specialties include adolescents, families,  grief, anxiety, depression, major life changing events (death, divorce, job loss, birth of a child etc.) and trauma. I work from a holistic model incorporating the mind, body and spirit/soul into my interventions. Practically, this means that my work includes interventions ranging from CBT, Mindfulness, Somatic Intervention and Spiritual/Ceremony/Ritual practice. I am trained in Motivational Interviewing and have worked extensively with addictions, grief, children, women, couples and families.

Choosing the right therapist is very personal. I believe it is important to be able to get to know someone when considering a new relationship. I offer a 20 minute free phone consultation giving you time to ask me questions and to share your reasons for coming to therapy. If we proceed, sessions are 50 minutes long. My rate is $125 per hour. I do offer a limited number of sliding scale sessions, please feel free to ask if need be.

Thank you for your consideration, I look forward to working with you,
